In a major boost to employment opportunities, the Indian Railways has officially announced 50,000 vacancies for the financial year 2025–26 through the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). This comes as part of the government’s continued push for large-scale public recruitment and improved transparency in the hiring process.
Big Recruitment Push by Indian Railways
According to an official release from PIB Delhi dated 9th July 2025, the Indian Railways has already offered over 9,000 appointments in the first quarter of FY 2025–26, with plans to fill more than 50,000 posts before the financial year ends. The recruitment drive is part of a larger effort to fill 1.08 lakh vacancies announced since November 2024.

Fair and Transparent Examination Process
To ensure fairness and security in the exam process, the RRBs have implemented several robust mechanisms:
Aadhaar-based E-KYC Authentication:
Used for the first time on such a large scale, this method achieved over 95% success rate in verifying candidate identities.
100% Use of Jammers:
All exam centers are now equipped with signal jammers to prevent electronic cheating.
Local Exam Centers Allotment:
Candidates are allotted centers closer to their residence. Special preferences are given to female candidates and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs).
Transparent Coordination:
Conducting CBTs for crores of candidates involves massive coordination and planning with multiple exam agencies.
